Students create preliminary exercises of pure color forms and digital preliminaries proceeding the final compositions. The goal of Cold Warm Contrast is to transition the colors adjacent to one another gradually in value and temperature. Acrylic on paper, 5" x 8."

Cold Warm contrast is the concept that follows the Contrast of Hue sequence. Students are encouraged to reuse their designs from Contrast of Hue. It enables students to see the impact of color forms on a design. Both works are acrylic on paper, 5" x 8."

Cold Warm contrast is the concept that follows the Contrast of Hue sequence. Students are encouraged to reuse their designs from Contrast of Hue. It enables students to see the impact of color forms on a design. Both works are acrylic on paper, 5" x 8."



Contrast of Hue



Students must work out the relationships of their color forms before completing their final paintings. They use of digital platforms in the class is equivalent to a sketchbook, and the final goal of the digital sketches is to create final hands-on work.

CONTRAST OF HUE



Students create a digital sketch of their final composition before painting it. The goal of the digital sketch is to work generally and establish compositional goals and correct color concept relationships. The purpose of the final acrylic painting is to apply the concepts in a well-crafted final composition.
