The Jasper Project 10th Anniversary celebration at 701 Whaley on April 14, 2022, is an amazing event that is planned in celebration of a publication that defines and highlights the cultural scene in Columbia, SC. Spearheaded by Cindi Boiter, the magazine keeps the greater Cola Community up to date on what's happening while featuring interviews that take deep dives into the lives of artists, performers, dancers, musicians, and writers. The evening of April 14 will feature music from Adam Corbett, Post-Timey String Band, DJ Preach Jacobs, and Dick Not Richard. Dance performance from Columbia Repertory Dance Co.
Art sale featuring work from some of Columbia's top visual artists: Thomas Crouch, Cait Maloney, Dawn Hunter, Candace Thibeault, Michael Krajewski, Lucas Sams, Pam Bowers, Lori Isom, Eileen Blythe, B.A. Hohman, Bohumila Augustinova, Rachel Church, Gina Langston Brewer, Lindsay Radford, Jennifer Hill, Laura Garner Hine, Adam Corbett, Mike Dwyer, Jeff Donovan, and Will South.

I have been writing as much as I have been painting. Visit: dawnhunterart.blogspot.com, link below, to read my latest post: Your Cheatin' Heart, an article that examines plagiarism and offers instructions to readers on how to copyright a PowerPoint or Professional Presentation. The creative process feels slow this week, but gratifying. I continue to work on the creative artwork series about Santiago Ramón y Cajal. To that end, I have hung up all of the drawings from my Las Vegas show when they were returned. Those works in their collective chorus continue to inform my handmade sketchbook about Cajal.

Patch working IMages with Fabric
This handmade sketchbook is a real labor of love. I have been working on it for many years and the pages are double sided. Photo by Dawn Hunter.
Front Cover
Obviously, I do not believe in rushing work. I don't work on the sketchbook non-stop, but frequently. There are many other projects within my Cajal series that keep me busy! Photo by Dawn Hunter.

Inside COver
Cajal was a cobbler and made shoes. One of the skills he developed was sewing, which makes sense. I firmly believe that great sewers are great drawers. Both mediums depend on the quality of the line! Photo by Dawn Hunter.

Hard to work inside when it is sunny outside
Thankfully, my studio is well lit however, the weather in South Carolina has been beautiful during the past two days, making it tough to stay indoors. Drawing the Plein Air landscape drawing is in order!
